I work with the Pulaski County Youth Services Organization to bring Music Education into their After-School Care Enrichment Program. This program is for Elementary students in low-income areas. I am responsible for bringing Music Education to the kids by way of giving weekly presentations, which is the reason why I decided to create this website. I will be teaching the kids basic Music Theory, which will entail: Note & Rest Names and, Beat Values, Clefts, Key & Time Signatures, Dynamics, & etc. Every week there will be a Vocabulary & Music term that they will be learning. Students will also be exposed to world-harmonies & new cultures from across the globe. I am also here to give the kids new innovative ways to learn all core subjects, such as, Science, Math, History, & English by way of music as well. A prime example of this is available at my link if you would like to visit:

So, I have decided that, eventually, at the end of every presentation one student will be featured every week by playing a song that they have learned on their instrument & I will perform for them as well. Every page that you see are the weekly presentations that are being presented. All dates are also posted & available. I also give a Summary Analysis of what the kids are learning during the course of each presentation. This can be found at the bottom of every page.
I am a Music Major at the University of Central Arkansas while pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts in General Music. Although I am only earning one degree, I am only a few hours shy of having two more Bachelor’s of Arts Degrees in Music Composition & Vocal Performance. I received the chance of going back to my former High School, Parkview Arts & Science Magnet, in order to help a former teacher of mine, Miss Edith Ellis. While I was there I got the opportunity to teach Music Theory & Ear Training. I was also able to direct & conduct a few Choral & Instrumental Rehearsals while High School students sight-read my sheet music. This was a very rewarding & exciting experience. During the course of my time helping there, I was able to do over 100 hrs. of Community Service for the month of May in 2010. I give a full-account of this on my Classical Music/ Educational Site: bethanyfreeman.weebly.com. I am also a Music Substitute for the Little Rock School District as well. It is a true joy & blessing to be able to give back to my community by inspiring children of all ages through the use of music.
